PAWS Tournaments 2019

Posted by portsmouthwargames on January 20, 2019

The good news is that we now have dates for this year’s PAWS tournaments (including the English DBA Open).

The bad news is there will be one fewer that recent years.

For reasons already outlined previously, we are having to move venue at short notice. The current plan is that we will now be playing in Fort Cumberland as guests of a Veterans charity who are based on the site. Assuming there are no problems we will be moving next month. So we will not have a tournament in March as usual, but will have Late Spring, Autumn and Winter themed tournaments using slightly different rules for theme choice.

The dates for these tournaments are currently planned to be:

Late Spring PAWS DBA – Saturday 11 May 2019 now changed to Saturday 18 May 2019

Autumn PAWS DBA – Saturday 21 September 2019

English DBA Open – Sunday 27 October 2019

Winter PAWS DBA – Saturday 7 December 2019

The Autumn and winter dates will be reviewed once the 2019-2020 football fixture list are published and may be moved forward or back a week to avoid clashing with Portsmouth FC home games (as traffic will be a nightmare on those afternoons).

Only word on themes so far is that the late Spring DBA is likely to be 8th Century BC Near East.
