Autumn 2010
Martin has chosen the theme for the third DBA Event of 2010, which will be held on 18th September.
The Theme is Al Andalus and the Magrib in the 10th Century (Armies & enemies of Islamic Spain and North-West Africa, 901-1000 AD).
The list of armies is as follows:
III/21b Italian Lombard
III/29 Thematic Byzantine
III/33 Early Muslim North Africa & Sicily
III/34b Andalusian
III/35ab Feudal Spanish
III/40b Norse Viking
III/49 Tulunid or Iqshidid Egyptian
III/51 West Frankish (not Norman, so Ag:2 only)
III/52 East Frankish
III/65 Fatamid Egyptian
III/69 Tuareg

Roger De Tosny was the 11th Century I believe, not the 10th.
Robert Ceispins I’m unaware of but unless he was part of a largely Norman army (rather than a small group of Normans in a larger Christian army) in 10th Century Spain, then there is still no justification for Norman armies as part of teh theme.

Looks like a good theme, Bill, and will be interesting to see if v3 has changed the interaction of these armies.

Yes, as will the Sicilian Greeks, because they are not specifically prohibited to non-Norman armies.
